Finance Specialist (AP & AR)

If so, this is your opportunity to take ownership of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable while being part of a close-knit, impactful finance team. As a Finance Specialist (AP & AR), you will work closely with the Financial Accountant and GL Accountant and report to the Head of Finance. You will play a key role in managing financial transactions, optimizing cash flow, and ensuring smooth payment processes.

You are responsible for:

• Maintain the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Process invoices, verify payment approvals, and ensure timely supplier payments.
• Monitor incoming payments, follow up on outstanding invoices, and maintain customer relationships.
• Prepare the weekly payment run to suppliers and support cash management activities.
• Liaise with internal departments to manage invoice approvals and payment processing.
• Communicate with external parties regarding expected incoming payments.
• Assist the Finance team with ad-hoc financial tasks and process improvements.

We are searching for a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, project-driven environment. Our ideal candidate has:

• Education: MBO level 4, MBA, or HBO-AD in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: At least 2-4 years of relevant work experience in finance or accounting.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel is a must; experience with AccountView and Bemet is a plus.
• Autonomy: High degree of independence and ability to take ownership of tasks.
• Reliability: A structured and precise approach to financial processes.
• Collaboration: A strong team player who builds effective working relationships.
• Communication: Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written) to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• Mindset: Proactive, service-minded, and eager to contribute to process improvements.
