At Airborne Aerospace, we develop and manufacture advanced composite structures for the aerospace industry. As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in defining and optimizing quality processes to ensure our products consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
You are responsible for:
As part of our growing QA team (currently 2 members, with planned expansion), you will be responsible for establishing and improving quality processes within Airborne Aerospace. Your key tasks include:
- Developing and implementing quality assurance plans within projects to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Defining and implementing inspection plans to determine the necessary quality control steps.
- Ensuring supply chain compliance, working closely with suppliers to uphold quality standards.
- Reviewing and writing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring proper documentation and resolution of quality issues.
- Leading root cause analyses and implementing corrective and preventive actions for continuous improvement.
- Improving and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) by reviewing and optimizing procedures and work instructions.
- Acting as the key quality liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Performing and supporting internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100).
Job requirements
We are searching for a strategic thinker who can maintain a high-level overview while diving into the details when necessary. Our ideal candidate has:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in aerospace or composite production is an advantage.
- Auditing Experience: Familiarity with internal and external quality audits.
- Analytical & Decision-Making Skills: Ability to assess complex quality issues, propose solutions, and implement changes.
- Process-Oriented Mindset: Strong ability to set up and refine quality processes to meet both customer and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Competence: Understanding of inspection techniques and ability to determine which inspections are required.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Ability to interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring seamless quality integration.
- Languages: Proficient in English (spoken and written) to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. (Dutch is a plus)
- Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
