Manufacturing Engineer with Lean Expertise

As a Manufacturing Engineer with Lean skills at Airborne International, you’ll play a key role in transforming how we industrialize projects. Your Mission
In this exciting role, you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing production lines for high-volume manufacturing of substrate panels. You’ll take the lead in calculating resource requirements, determining production cadence, and developing technical specifications for machinery, utilities, and facility upgrades.

In addition, you’ll set up real-time effectiveness monitors to ensure smooth production, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency. You’ll also act as a mentor and leader, guiding team members and supporting production until the project is fully operational.


Key Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer & Lean Specialist, your role will include:

  • Process Optimization: Identify waste and inefficiencies in production, develop solutions, and oversee the implementation of improvements.
  • Composite Manufacturing: Lead process development, including tooling for composite materials.
  • Risk Mitigation: Anticipate and mitigate risks during production.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stimulate ongoing process improvements and standardization.
  • Team Leadership: Coach and lead production teams within various projects, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Machine Procurement Support: Assist in the technical specifications and procurement of new machinery.
  • Innovation in Production Lines: Implement and optimize new production lines for cutting-edge products.
  • First Line Support: Act as the first point of contact for resolving production issues.

You’ll work closely with a dynamic team of engineers (structural, design, CAD), quality experts, project managers, and the production team to ensure projects are executed flawlessly.

Job requirements

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.).
  • Lean Expertise: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and a strong grasp of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Industry Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, design, or production environment, with a proven track record in implementing Lean projects.
  • Leadership Skills: A natural mentor with excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of zooming in on details while keeping the big picture in mind.
  • Bilingual Advantage: While English is essential, proficiency in Dutch is highly preferred.
  • The Hague: You must live within commuting distance of The Hague. 
  • Onsite: You are comfortable working mainly onsite, and you can start daily between 07:00 and 08:00 a.m.
