Freelance Software Engineer

Airborne Composites Automation (ACA) is seeking a Freelance Software Engineer to develop automation and digitalization solutions for composite parts manufacturing.

Your Role: As a freelance software engineer, you will work within multidisciplinary teams to design, implement, and deploy software for advanced automation solutions. You’ll help shape the technical foundation of our maturing product portfolio and develop scalable applications with low technical debt. Most of our projects are Python-based, using frameworks like Django, and libraries such as Shapely and Matplotlib.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver efficient, maintainable software for composite production.
• Collaborate with the team to drive technical solutions and best practices.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach in all development tasks.

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Strong Python expertise, especially in backend web development.
• Experience with Docker and data management.
• Fluent in English.
• Passion for clean, well-tested code.
• Able to communicate with engineers from other disciplines.
• You live within commuting distance of The Hague.
