If so, this is your opportunity to take ownership of General Ledger accounting while being part of a close-knit, impactful finance team. As a General Ledger Accountant, you will work closely with the Financial Accountant and AP/AR Accountant and report to the Head of Finance. You will play a key role in managing financial transactions, month-end closings, and reporting, while ensuring compliance and efficiency in financial processes.


You are responsible for:

  • Coordinating the Month-End Closure and preparing all relevant reports and specifications for all Airborne entities, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Supporting the Year-End Closing and preparing audit specifications.
  • Acting as the senior team member within the Finance department.
  • Supporting the quarterly forecast process in collaboration with Business Controllers.
  • Assessing fixed assets, monitoring key financial ratios, and ensuring accurate processing of salary mutations.
  • Preparing financial reports and analyses in Excel to support decision-making.
  • Assisting colleagues in understanding and implementing (new) financial procedures and process improvements.
  • Serving as a backup for the Head of Finance when needed.

Job requirements

We are searching for a precise and analytical finance professional who thrives in a high-tech, project-driven environment. Our ideal candidate has:

  • Education: HBO / Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience in finance or accounting.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Excel (must-have)
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to assess financial data, monitor ratios, and improve reporting structures.
  • Decision-Making & Assertiveness: Capable of formulating well-founded standpoints and confidently defending them to stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Autonomy & Initiative: Ability to work independently while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive approach to tackling challenges and optimizing processes.
  • Communication: Strong communicator who easily connects with different stakeholders.
  • Flexibility: Hands-on mentality with the adaptability to thrive in a scale-up environment.
  • Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
