What is your new job?
In this dual role, you will be responsible for both product and tooling design as well as process optimization within composite manufacturing. Initially, your primary focus will be on design-related tasks, but over time, the role will transition more towards process engineering and continuous improvement. You will work closely with engineers, production teams, and project managers to bridge the gap between design and manufacturing. You will report to the Manager Engineering & Projects and collaborate closely with design engineers, process engineers, project managers, quality specialists, and production teams.
You are responsible for:
As a Design Engineer:
Create 3D models and production drawings of composite products and tooling.
Ensure designs are cost-effective and manufacturable.
Collaborate with process engineers and production teams to validate designs.
Work with Siemens NX for CAD modeling.
As a Process Engineer:
Develop and optimize composite manufacturing processes.
Define and support the design of required tooling.
Translate client requirements into manufacturable solutions (co-engineering).
Identify and mitigate risks in design and production.
Document processes through reports, process flows, and work instructions.
Standardize processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Support technical aspects of the acquisition phase.
Job requirements
We are looking for a precise and hands-on engineer who enjoys working on both design and process development. Our ideal candidate has:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a design, process engineering, or production environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (Siemens NX). Experience with composite materials and manufacturing processes.
Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate client requirements into manufacturable designs while considering cost-effectiveness and feasibility.
Process Optimization: Strong problem-solving skills with an eagerness to improve and standardize manufacturing processes.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for precision when developing models, production drawings, and numerical control files.
Collaboration: Team player who effectively communicates with engineers, project managers, and production teams.
Autonomy & Initiative: Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
